Selena Gomez traveled out east for the weekend, where she spent the last three days hanging around Boston. Gomez’s big public engagement was on Friday, when she was honored at McLean Hospital’s annual dinner for her work in reducing mental health stigma and gave the keynote speech there.
The hospital shared a photo of her from the night and commended her activism. “Thank you, @selenagomez, for your tenacious work toward eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health and for warmly receiving the numerous attendees at our annual dinner this past Friday who wanted to share their story with you,” the hospital tweeted.
It also shared a photo of her posing with one of the evening’s guests. Gomez wore her hair down in waves and a black, sleeveless dress:
In her Speech, Gomez commended the hospital for its work. “I got to witness up close the dedication and care that goes into all that you do,” she told the crowd, which included faculty and staff at the hospital. “And your work is extremely important, and I know that I, personally, am very grateful for it.”
Gomez’s friends applauded her speech on their Instagrams. “So proud of you @selenagomez for using your voice to raise awareness on mental health,” Raquelle Stevens wrote on her Instagram Story. “Meant so much to be apart of this weekend with you. Love you.”
But they didn’t leave the city after that night. Gomez was seen out in Boston and took photos with fans there on Saturday. Her friend Caroline Franklin shared a shot of herself with Gomez there yesterday:
And Gomez had her own fancy dinner with friends that they documented on their own Instagrams last night.
